Log types

• Hardwood – long-burning and ideal for open fires and stoves
• Softwood – ideal for wood-burning stoves (not recommended for open fires)
• Mixed load – a balanced combination of hardwood and softwood

Load size

• Each delivery is a 2m³ load of loose filled logs

Seasoning & storage guidance

Logs should only be burnt once they have a moisture content of 20% or less. Burning wet wood creates excess smoke and harmful particulates, can damage stoves and chimneys, and is an inefficient way to heat your home.

To season logs correctly:

• Store logs in a sunny, well-ventilated area
• Protect from direct rainfall
• Keep logs off the ground
• Stack to allow good airflow

Poorly stacked logs can re-absorb moisture and become unsuitable for efficient burning.

Signs that logs are ready to burn include radial cracks and bark that comes away easily. For best results, test logs with a moisture meter on a freshly split surface.

Each delivery includes three randomly tested logs, with the average moisture content recorded on the reverse of the delivery invoice.
